Merlion Park Light Show- Hi everyone, after a long break for holidays, now we back to give you a review of World’s Best Destination. Before we go too far away to around the world, we will go back to Singapore, the cute small one, hehe. I have told you much of Singapore except this one which actually became the landmark of Singapore, Merlion Park. Merlion Park Light Show is our topic today to show you how beautiful is the Merlion Park in the night. Well, Merlion Park is a Singapore landmark and major tourist attraction, located near One Fullerton, Singapore, close to the Central Business District (CBD). According to historical records, Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion’s head and the body of a fish that is widely used as a national mascot and personification of Singapore. Two Merlion statues are located in the park. The original Merlion structure was 8.6 meters high and sprayed water from its mouth. Then it has joined the Merlion child, which is located near the original statue and is only 2 meters of height.
The original Merlion Park was first designed by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) near the banks of the Singapore River in 1964 as a symbol of Singapore. On September 15, 1972, the park was officially opened at the sculpture installation ceremony, inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. The original Merlion statue was used to stand on the edge of the Singapore River. The statue was made from November 1971 to August 1972 by the late Singapore sculptor, Mr. Lim Nang Seng. It is 8.6 meters high and weighs 70 tons.

Since established until today, Merlion Park is already the Singapore Center of Tourism for years besides the other tourist attractions such as Marina Bay Sands, Garden By The Bay, etc. It always fulfilled by the tourists almost every day in a year. For some people, maybe Merlion is no longer an attractive tourist destination, whatever their reasons. But in fact, this area is very pleasant for those who want to sit back, take a walk or go around the Singapore River by boat.
When the sun begins to set and then replaced with the thick night, Merlion Park increasingly looks beautiful and luxurious with sparkling lights, and even more crowded Merlion Park who want to enjoy Merlion Park at night. Not only that but from Merlion Park, we also can get the view of Garden By The Bay’s Lights, so sparkling and amazing. Well everyone, who says that The Merlion Park is no more interesting?
